The Bodacious Studios case study represents a hypothetical situation that is used for teaching purposes only. The case study provides an artificial term sheet that is the basis for student discussions. The term sheet has been made very favorable to the investors and very unfriendly to the founders in order to promote a hypothetical discussion among the founders. The case study allows students to critique a term sheet and offer suggestions for changes and to enable a discussion of how venture capitalists might respond to suggested changes.
